Knaresborough Silver Band
2015 & 2016 National Finalists
4th Section

Knaresborough Silver Band qualify for 2016 National Finals!

For the second year running, the band will be representing the North of England at the National Brass Band Championships, to be held in Cheltenham this September. Following up on their Northern Championship year, the band recently attended the 2016 Northern Championships where their excellent performance of 'The Journal of Phileas Fogg' earned them runners-up place in a very close result. More importantly, with that placing comes the invitation to the National Championships! The band are now working hard preparing their programme for the band season whilst raising money to fund their quest for the National Title. If any individuals or local businesses are interested in supporting the National Finals quest, please get in touch.

We always welcome new players in all areas of the band, however these are our current targets:

- Principal cornet

- Lower cornet

- Horn and baritone

- Percussionist - to work alongside our existing team.

- Tuba (Eb/BBb) to expand our existing section.

Experience playing at 4th/3rd section is ideal but not essential, depending on experience.

We are a friendly town band from North Yorkshire who undertake a healthy mixture of concerts across the year, including own World-famous bed race and Durham Miners' Gala. Our calendar normally includes three contests spread across the year. We rehearse each Tuesday evening between 7.30 and 9.30pm.

You are welcome to contact the MD on md@knaresboroughsilverband.org.uk in confidence.
